The first step: is therapy right for you?
If you are considering therapy and wondering if it is the right thing for you, it can be helpful to consider the following:
Do you believe that talking to professionals can help you resolve problems?
Are you motivated to seek help?
Are you prepared to work in collaboration with a therapist to find solutions to your difficulties?
Do you have a good network of people to support you during your treatment?
Can you identify some specific problems that you would like to work on?
You are welcome to phone or email me with any further questions. There is no charge or obligation for any initial enquiries.
If you decide to go ahead with therapy, you will need to attend an initial assessment, which takes from 60 to 90 minutes. Waiting time for this is currently around 7 days. The charge for this assessment varies depending upon how you are funding your treatment (e.g. privately or through medical insurance). Please email, phone or use the contact form to find out treatment costs.
During this initial meeting, we will explore your current difficulties and discuss treatment options, including how many sessions you will need and the cost of treatment. There is no obligation to attend treatment after the initial session and you can terminate therapy at any point.
If you decide to go ahead with therapy, we will agree the number of sessions required and set a specific time and date for your appointments. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes and, if you are paying for your treatment, you will be asked to pay after each session. If you are insured with either Aviva or AXAPPP, and have been approved for treatment, I will bill your insurer directly as long as you provide all relevant details.
